Both the marinas in Vilamoura and in Albufeira have been re-awarded the prestigious five golden anchor rating by the Yacht Harbour Association of the UK, the highest ranking given by the association to any marina in the world.
With 475 berths the marina in Albufeira is described as being “pleasant and well equipped” by the Yacht Harbour Association in their assessment this year.
Director of Albufeira Marina José Massapina said: “We are very proud to receive the renewal of this certificate and it comes as the result of all the hard work undertaken by the entire team here at the marina.”

The marina in Vilamoura was also given the same accolade by the association, which described the 825 berth facility as not only being the largest marina in Portugal but also one that offers the best quality services.
Isolete Correia, the director of Vilamoura marina, said: “It is with great pride that we once again receive the renewal of the five golden anchors award from the Yacht Harbour Association.”
The awards are based on rigorous assessments conducted by external experts who focus primarily on good practices implemented in the management of a marina and levels of quality both in terms of infrastructure and the services provided.
