Following the example of residents in the McCanns’ home town of Rothley in Leicestershire, people today (Saturday) tied yellow ribbons outside the main reception of the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz.
Journalists, camera operators and photographers tied ribbons on their equipment, on necklaces – anywhere they could in a show of support for the McCann family and to celebrate the 4th birthday of Madeleine.
A vigil was held at 1pm to celebrate the 4th birthday outside the reception near to where the little girl disappeared.
An evening vigil is planned for 6pm this evening at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima church in Praia da Luz.
