Ticket bonanza for basement battle

Olhanense are making every effort to attract a large turnout for their all important relegation battle with Belenenses on Sunday at the Estádio José Arcanjo, Olhão (behind McDonalds on the EN125) – kick-off 4pm.
Socio-members and women will gain free entry whilst members of the public pay only €5.
There was a great atmosphere for the last home game when the Algarve’s only Primeira Liga side beat Gil Vicente with a ninetieth minute winner.
Last Sunday the team travelled to high-flying Estoril, who the previous week had inflicted on FC Porto their first home defeat since 2008.
Estoril were worthy 4-0 victors against Olhanense in atrocious conditions as the rain and wind swirled around the open stadium. Only front man Dionisi – he hit the woodwork twice – can take any solace from the game.
The hundred travelling supporters deserve all the plaudits for braving the elements on the bleak open terraces.
The game with Belenenses on Sunday – both teams are at the bottom of the league on sixteen points – could define who will be favourites for the one relegation spot.
Olhanense will be without Sampirisi, harshly sent-off in the final minutes at Estoril, whilst the visitors will be missing Fredy who received his second red of the season in the 1-0 home defeat by Benfica.
Olhanense will be boosted by the return from injury of Argentinean international Mario Santana.
