Three Portuguese universities to open courses in Medicine

The government has given the green-light to three new university courses for medicine in Portugal. The courses will be opening in Aveiro, Vila Real and Évora – and mean the choice (and chances) for young people hoping to get a place have suddenly increased dramatically. In the past, competition for a place on a Portuguese university course in Medicine has been such that many students have sought to qualify in other countries. The good news isn’t ‘immediate’, however, it will take up to two years to get these new courses up and running. They will be aimed not only at doctors, explain reports, but at nurses and ‘technicians’ as well.
