Three men aged 25, 32 and 60, suspected of stealing more than €10,000 in a gold jewellery from Portimão were arrested by PSP police in Alcantarilha on June 2.
Police believe that the suspects were also responsible for another jewellery theft in Albufeira on May 22.
According to the police, the men, who included a Romanian who has an outstanding international arrest warrant against him, were found inside a car.
PSP police have recovered two thirds of the gold stolen and found some tools that the suspects may have used for the thefts.
The police investigations are continuing and the thieves will now appear in court at some time in the future.
