Three killed in new collision on EN125

Three young people died this morning (August 17) and another was badly injured after yet another horrific head-on crash on the EN125, this time between Patã and Boliqueime.

The victims include two young men aged 19 and 24, and a 20-year-old woman who were travelling in the same car, writes Correio da Manhã online.

The driver of the other vehicle was “badly injured” but details are still scarce.

GNR police have only confirmed that the accident happened at 7.28pm.

These latest fatalities follow the deaths of three people in a series of serious accidents on the road, which has been described as being in a “state of war” (click here Three dead with EN125 in “state of war”)

Yesterday (Sunday) the group fighting for a toll-free motorway to relieve the congestion on the EN125 delivered yet another petition to this end to the holiday home of President Cavaco Silva, in Albufeira. The petition highlighted the grim fact that deaths on the road have already reached 27 this year.
