Two men were arrested in Loulé on Monday suspected of several residential robberies in the area.
House searches resulted in stolen goods being recovered, relating to “at least nine crime cases, mostly residential robberies but also vehicle theft”, said Lieutenant-Colonel Azevedo Palhau from Faro GNR district command.
Recovered stolen items included mobile phones, digital cameras, firearms, ammunition, knives, angle grinders, power drills, costume jewellery, watches and several documents, such as ID cards, driving licences and bank cards belonging to the crime victims.
The recovered goods have allowed the GNR to “link the suspects to at least nine crimes”.
Both suspects are in their 30s and have a criminal record over theft, assaulting a police officer, domestic violence, receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of firearms.
The case is due to be heard at Loulé Court.
