LOULÉ CÂMARA is to invest four million euros to restore the city’s old theatre.
The building was bought from private owners four years ago and last September the Câmara launched a public appeal for a complete restoration project. The construction works are scheduled to start in March 2008 and the refurbished building is expected to open its doors by 2010.
The main room of the old theatre has a capacity of 300 people seated. The approved restoration project has a completely new stage area, twice the original size, for live shows, cinema and theatre.
