Chilling out, the cast and crew of ‘The Windsors in Portugal’

Theatre group raises money for Bombeiros

The production of ‘The Windsors in Portugal’ raised over €1,500 for São Brás Bombeiros.

Tickets for the three shows, performed at São Brás Museum, were sold out. In the spirit of Christmas, the audience was also generous with additional donations. The money will be used to purchase items of uniform and specialist equipment for volunteer firemen and women.

The theatre group – consisting of random players from a variety of international backgrounds – will soon be preparing for their next production, ‘The Great Pretenders’.

It is another comic play with a historic background. Once again written by Carolyn Kain, it includes some larger than life and entertaining characters including Cecil Rhodes, Princess Victoria of Wales and Maria Pia de Saxe-Coburgo e Bragança, the illegitimate daughter of the last king of Portugal and claimant to the Portuguese throne.
