The weekend weather

VERY FAVOURABLE temperatures are expected this weekend in the Algarve, although the nights will be significantly colder.

There should be a few clouds in the sky but there is little chance of rain and daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the high teens. There will, however, be more cloud cover towards the west

Temperatures in the west, around Sagres, will be favourable with highs of 18°C and 19°C on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. However, temperatures could dip to 11°C tomorrow (Saturday) night but evening temperatures on Sunday may rise to 13°C.

Towards the east, in Faro, temperatures will be much the same as in the west, with highs of 19°C and 18°C on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Temperatures are likely to dip to around 9°C on Saturday night but the following evening, temperatures are likely to be more favourable at 12°C.

There is little chance over the course of the weekend but there may be fog in places in the mornings. The Sun promises to disperse fog and set you up for warm weather on both days.

There will be a moderate wind blowing down from the north and ocean temperatures will be 18°C and 19°C, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The wind is likely to agitate the ocean somewhat; especially in the in the northwest of the Algarve, by Vila do Bispo and Aljezur, where waves could reach three metres high, and even up to four metres on Sunday, with an ocean temperature of 19°C.

Meanwhile, on the south coast, there will be 1m high waves around the Faro area and ocean temperatures of 18°C.

Looking to the coming week, temperatures are likely to be consistently warm throughout the week, staying at an average high of 18°C and low of 12°C. However, clouds are expected to dominate from Tuesday onwards and there is a good chance of rain towards the end of the week although temperatures will be relatively unaffected.
