A hot and dry weekend is expected across the Algarve, with the highest temperatures in the east.
The skies will be clear on Saturday and on Sunday while the strong winds of the last week are set to drop, especially in the east where there will be very little wind.
The clear skies will mean that UV levels will be at a very high level of UV9 on Saturday and Sunday.
It is advised that special care be taken to avoid being in the sun between midday and 4pm and that people should use sun protection cream, wear hats and sunglasses and take care to avoid children becoming exposed to the sun.
The elevated temperatures also means that there is a very high fire risk all weekend, particularly in the west where higher wind speeds are also a contributing factor.
