The story behind the Planet of the Apes is explained in this prequel movie which charts the rise of the apes on Earth.
Scientist Will Rodman is working on a cure for Alzheimer’s and in doing so he performs tests on various apes.
The first ape he tests out the cure on is a chimpanzee called Caesar and the results of the tests prove unexpected as the “cure” not only repairs the brain cells but also gives Caesar the ability to think like a human.
Soon Caesar has developed enough intelligence to be able to outwit his human captors and it is not long before he has released the “cure” into the air – creating thousands of super intelligent apes.
The race to prevent an all out war between man and ape is on and Will Rodman may be the only man capable of stopping the extinction of humans on Earth.
