‘The Right Juice’ receives top award in Canada

The Algarve’s first English language full-length feature film The Right Juice, being shown in cinemas across Portugal now, has won Best International Feature Film in The Edmonton International Film Festival held in Edmonton, Canada, last Saturday September 27.
Film director Kristjan Knigge (pictured left) was there to receive the award. He said: “As I have said to local Portuguese people in Edmonton, this Indie Movie is entirely filmed and funded in the Algarve. The film, like Canada and the Algarve, is multi-lingual.”
The Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) describes itself as an “international, independent and eye-opening” festival. On its webpage, it reads: “We strive to uncover cinematic gems and celebrate unique new voices in independent filmmaking.

“Just a couple hours’ drive from the majestic Rocky Mountains, Edmonton is the heart of the Canadian Prairies. And with a population of more than one million people, this is a city that loves movies. For 10 days each autumn, Edmontonians feast on all things cinematic.”
