Faro || As the countdown begins for The Right Juice premier, organisers admit “it will be quite something! A real first for the Algarve!”
For those who haven’t been following this story, The Right Juice is the first English language full-length feature film to have been made exclusively on location in the Algarve – and it is certainly the first international film of its kind to have been made in Portugal.
Financed by crowdfunding, local support, donations and goodwill, it is proof that ‘impossible projects’ can succeed, even in the vice grip of economic crisis. “Our timing sucks!” director Kristjan Knigge quipped when the team set out to make their bouncing comedy drama – but determination and enthusiasm won the day, and now, three years on, the results are waiting to be seen.
This local premiere is open to everyone. Readers can cut out the coupon in this week’s Algarve Resident newspaper to benefit from discounts on as many as four tickets.
Tickets can be reserved through the box office at Faro’s Teatro das Figuras (289 888 110 from 1pm to 7pm).
The evening that promises celebrities, lots of effects, a red carpet and, above all, fun starts promptly at 8.30pm, with the screening an hour later.
