The rhythm and dance of the tango will be taught at an open workshop in Lagoa next month in the multipurpose room of the town’s centre for studies and training (Centro de Estudos e Formação de Lagoa).
The tuition has been organised by Lagoa’s Cultural Association Ideias do Levante in partnership with Viva Tango, which is directed by Ali Valé and Che Castro, who teach tango as it is danced today in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The first session is scheduled for March 7 at 8pm and registration must be made by contacting the secretary of the Cultural Association (Tel: 282 010 080) between 6pm and 8pm Monday to Friday or online: www.ideiasdolevante.net.
Tango, born in Buenos Aires in the late 1880s, is now universal in its appeal with classes, shows and festivals worldwide. The music and dance has evolved and changed over the years and it is enjoyed today by people of all creeds, religions, ages, shapes and sizes.
