The Portugal Masters: volunteers needed

The countdown has started to The Portugal Masters, which will take place from October 20 to 23 at The Oceânico Victoria Course in Vilamoura, and Golf for Greys are now recruiting volunteers to make the event its usual success.

This is the 10th edition of the Portugal Masters and promises to be extra special. The current champion, Andy Sullivan, has just qualified to represent Europe at The Ryder Cup to be held this month in the USA. He has already confirmed that he will be returning to Vilamoura in the hope of retaining the title.

Golf for Greys began recruiting volunteers for European Tour events in 2005, when Eddie Pilkington and the late John Hawker, founders of Golf for Greys, contacted their members to help. This event was the WGC World Cup which took place at the newly-opened Vilamoura Victoria course.

When The Portugal Masters was inaugurated in 2007, Golf for Greys again provided the volunteer force and has done so ever since.

Over 300 people have already signed up for The Portugal Masters 2016, but vacancies still exist for marshals and board carriers.

The benefits for helping at the event are a uniform designed by US Company Bobby Jones, which comprises two golf shirts, golf top and hat, daily refreshment/merchandising vouchers and free tickets for friends and family. The package is completed with a complimentary round of golf at your choice of Oceânico’s lovely golf venues on the Algarve.
