THE MCCANNS were expected to visit the Vatican on Wednesday, May 30.
According to Gerry McCann’s diary on Tuesday (May 29), it was likely they would “be seated in the front row” at a religious ceremony in the Vatican’s basilica “and have an opportunity to speak with the Holy Father and ask for prayers for Madeleine”.
Clarence Mitchell, a spokesman for the McCann family, said both parents were delighted that “this important spiritual support had been afforded to them” and that Kate McCann would give the Pope a photograph of Madeleine.
