Exhibiting at Galeria Côrte-Real in Paderne, Michael Sole is a remarkable artist capturing vast expanses of the Atlantic Ocean in its monumental glory.
His paintings evoke the mood and atmosphere of storms that build at hidden depths, far out at sea.
Using a hundred shades of vibrant blue, Michael Sole records some of the highest Atlantic surf waves ever seen.
His exhibition opens at the gallery during the weekend of July 28 and 29.
Michael qualified with a fine art degree and subsequently won the RSMA’s Young Marine Artist Award 2009. His awe-inspired paintings have been exhibited widely in the UK but this is the first occasion they have been seen in Portugal. He is one of more than 30 international artists and artisans whose work is on permanent display at Côrte-Real.
Signposted from Boliqueime, Ferreiras and Paderne, the gallery is open Thursday to Sunday, from 11am to 5pm
