The third round of Algarve inter club bowling league matches were played on October 28.
Alvor Greens continued their winning ways with a third straight victory, this time over the Algarve Harlequins by a narrow margin of four shots (40 – 44), but the Greens claimed six points to two as they were technically the away team. Elsewhere, PDF Sinners and Crusaders had a local derby, sharing the points even though the Crusaders had the overall win by 50 – 52. Vilamoura returned to winning ways at home to the VDL Jackals, taking five points to two.
In the remaining two games, Clube Praia D’Oura entertained Tavira County and won by 67 – 42 and five points to two. The final game was between the VDL Wolves at home to the Alvor Gladiators. In yet another very close match, the Gladiators took the honours by 46 – 54 and took six points to two in the process.
Overall, the Greens continue in front with 17 points, closely followed by the Gladiators on 14. Clube Praia D’Oura, with 12 points jump up the table from sixth to third on shot difference from the Harlequins, who are fourth. Tavira are in fifth spot, tying with the Jackals, both on 11 points. These are closely followed by the Crusaders and Vilamoura on 10 points. Sinners are on seven points and the VDL Wolves have six. All in all a very close run and exciting start to the new season.
