CHRIS LEACH da Cruz has lived in Portugal for 21 years. She originally worked as an administrator for Robert Darvall Lda, which later involved the setting up of A.I.M removals and storage.
She then went to work for 125 computers, which led to the offer of a quarter-share in a new removals company in the Lagos area, called 125 Removals.
Just over a year ago, Chris purchased the company outright and, with numerous contacts in the UK and with the help of a genuine and enthusiastic work force, became one of the first women to own and run a removal company in Portugal.
Chris has now established herself in the world of removals and storage and does not sit in an office all day but works all over Spain and Portugal, doing long distance as well as local removals.
She is currently expanding her home shopping service, including big names such as a well known Swedish furniture company and a large well established baby and maternity business. Customers can ask for practically any product or company from any location through this unique service.
Chris has many tales of staff risking life and limb to make sure deliveries are made – imagine apartment blocks and balconies where items must be carried where lifts are unable to handle such large objects, as well as some clients giving rather vague directions!
