The Victor Picardo Group has expanded at a phenomenal rate in the last year, increasing the number of salons throughout the Algarve to eight. The most recent was opened in Vale do Lobo, launching the first Victor Picardo De Luxe salon, aimed at luxury resorts. Within just a few weeks of opening, business is booming.
The Vale do Lobo Group believed that the establishment of a permanent hair salon in its shopping centre was essential to complement the luxurious new Spa development, and so, the Victor Picardo Group was approached.
The Victor Picardo De Luxe salon opened in conjunction with the Vale do Lobo Sapphire Party three weeks ago, with stylists from the Victor Picardo Group creating fantastic hair styles for the fashion show models at the event.
The new De Luxe salon is unique in the region. Unlike many hairdressers who endeavour to fit in as many clients as possible in one day, the Victor Picardo De Luxe salon in Vale do Lobo prides itself on spending time with the clients and discussing their hair needs in detail. Typically, each stylist will see an average of six clients per day, creating a more relaxed atmosphere, enhancing the pampering experience to the max, and only the highest quality hair products are used – Schwarzkopf, Redken and Fudge.
The ‘modern classic’ salon has seven cutting areas, while at the rear of the salon there is a large room where clients can relax while they wait. The salon operates a two-tier hierarchy of stylists, consisting of Designer and Art Director, with no trainees, which ensures a more exclusive and professional service. The staff are highly qualified to tend to hair and hair care. What is more, they do it with a smile.
The stylists at the Victor Picardo salons are young, bright, friendly and bilingual, which is an important asset for such a multicultural region. They are extremely loyal to the company and are proud of where they work.
Alison Geers, head of marketing, is an integral part of the team, responsible for ensuring staff morale is high and that the business runs smoothly. This allows Victor Picardo himself to concentrate on what he loves to do best – making hair beautiful. He is also kept busy with the Victor Picardo Academy in Lagoa, run in association with Schwarzkopf, which teaches trainees to become qualified hairdressers as well as provide refresher courses for the more experienced stylists in the company. The Academy caters for both internal and external candidates.
The sky is the limit for the Victor Picardo Group, with discussion of more De Luxe salons opening in the future and a desire to take the brand to a national level. They want to be the best and are dedicated to providing excellent service to every client.
