SN&N Optico opened on September 8, offering clients eye examinations, glasses, contact lenses and accessories.
SN&N Optico has a fully qualified UK optometrist and offers services and prices equivalent to UK practices and contact lenses available on a monthly payment scheme.
Managing Director Brian Neville told the Algarve Resident: “We carry a stock of single vision lenses that can be made on the same day. We are supplying frames not available anywhere else in Portugal, such as the exquisitely handmade Ete frames from Italy and our convertibles range which has a patented sunglass magnetic attachment from Australia.”
He said that after he had an eye examination in Portugal, he wanted to purchase a new pair of spectacles but when he enquired about the price he was seriously shocked.
“Glasses cost on average three times more here than they do in the UK.
“As my wife and I owned an optical practice back in the UK, this got us thinking of the possibility of opening one here,” he said.
He added: “We then set out with the intention of providing the local population, both ex-pat and Portuguese, with a service equivalent to that of the UK.
“As a result, we are offering our clients a service that is equivalent to a UK optical practice in both professional standards and a price that is fair,” he said.
