After a two-year break, parents, teachers and students of the International School of the Algarve will again be holding a Christmas Bazaar at the school near Porches on November 27 between 10am and 4pm.
The bazaar is a family event with a range of games and activities for children and a visit from Father Christmas at 2pm, while for adults there will be stalls with various craft items, art pieces, clothing and Christmas gift ideas.
All the proceeds from the bazaar will be donated to charity with the student council of the school deciding that funds should be split between three local orphanages: the Bom Samaritano in Alvor, Casa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Portimão and the Pirilampos home in Albufeira.
Senior students of the school have already visited Pirilampos to meet with the director of the home and to discuss the specific needs of the children there.
Head teacher John Butterworth said: “On the day, it will be the combined hard work of the students, parents and teachers that will raise funds for these worthwhile causes.”
He added: “All that remains to be put in place is the support of the general public in coming along to the bazaar and enjoying themselves.”
There are still a limited number of stalls available for the fair, for further information please call Alan on 914 952 299.
