More than 50 women attended the Algarve’s first swishing event, the Walk in Wardrobe, held at the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra on February 7.
This fashion event, which is based around the swapping of quality second-hand clothes, raised more than 450 euros for the Lar Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor.
Fashion-based entertainment during the event included an Ann Summers lingerie show and three show and tell items; a fur coat, a pair of shoes and a dress, which were given away to women who were voted most suited to the item by those in attendance, as well as a raffle.
Those present were given advice throughout the event by the fashion duo Tuck Price and Nick Gaiger.
Suzy Turner, an organiser of the event, said: “The event exceeded our expectations and whole team is looking forward to planning the next one.
“I think everyone had a fabulous time and would like to say a big thank you to our sponsors, the Algarve Resident, the Hotel Garbe, local artist Anna Westwood and Vilar do Jardim Lda, as well as everyone else who was involved.”
