POUSADAS DE Portugal recently opened the Algarve’s first historic Pousada in Tavira. Situated in Rua D. Paio Peres Correia, Tavira’s Covento da Graça is the third Pousada (government funded hotel) in the region, but the first to be classified as historic.
Renovation work at the Convento da Graça, which has enabled it to be used as a Pousada, represents an investment of 12 million euros, and was completed in time for the official opening on June 24.
The hotel has seven double bedrooms, 24 twins and five suites, as well as a banquet hall, which is designed to cater for all types of events, public or private. It also boasts two outdoor swimming pools and local golf courses and other leisure activities are close at hand.
