HAVE YOU always wanted a career as a beauty therapist? Dreamt of manicures, waxes and tints, but thought you were too old, didn’t have time or just didn’t know where to start? Well, dream no more, Becky Goulding at BB’S School of Massage and Beauty can help you fulfil that dream.
By completing the 11 day intensive course, you will receive a recognised British qualification that will allow you to work anywhere in the world as a beauty therapist, working in a salon or on your own. As a beauty therapist, you have the freedom to choose how many hours or days you want to work, and have the opportunity to earn up to 40 euros per hour.
BB’S diplomas are recognised by the BABTAC Beauty Association and The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. This is the first college in the Algarve to offer an intensive, thorough training programme, combining both written and practical examinations. The school is very confident in its training methods and Becky is certain that, after completing the course, students will go on to be excellent therapists.
Courses are limited to four students, so that teacher Becky can give personal, one-to-one training in a realistic salon environment, ensuring that the skills needed to become a competent and capable therapist are acquired.
Becky qualified and trained in the UK, has been a therapist for 10 years and now runs her own business at the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra. “During the courses, students will learn all aspects of beauty and holistic therapy, along with the business acumen needed to set up or develop a salon. These intensive courses are for those wishing to enter the world of beauty for the first time, or those who are qualified but have been out of the business for a while and want to refresh their skills. The emphasis is on practical study in a relaxed, informal but professional environment, and we are the only school that specialises in this form of training,” says Becky.
If you don’t want to complete the whole 11 day course, you can save 25 per cent on the cost by subscribing to one or two of BB’S special packages. Courses available cover manicures, pedicures, eyelash/eyebrow tinting, eyelash perming, warm wax depilation, primary facials, basic body massage and aromatherapy body massage.
Once qualified, BB’S will always be there for students, offering a permanent help line and support system as they venture out into the world of beauty.
