IN JULY, these happy expatriates living in Portugal scaled Scafell Pike (England), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Snowdon (Wales), in just 24 hours to raise money for two charities: the Associação de Solidariedade com as Crianças Carenciadas do Algarve (ACCA), a Portuguese registered charity for children in need in the Algarve, responsible for distributing funds to children’s homes throughout the region, and the UK-based Guardian Angels charity. Before they climbed an estimated 3,353 metres, they had time for a photograph.
The 3 Peaks Challenge has now spurred on Eddy Emilio, Amanda Mortimer and Shirley Emilio to participate in the New York Marathon in November 2006. If you are interested in sponsoring the group please contact them on 282 313 820.
