Dear Editor,
On December 23, 2013 my husband had a heart attack. I quickly telephoned the ambulance service in Tavira who arrived within 10-15 minutes following my directions, which is quite a feat as we live in the Serra.
They rapidly removed him to Faro emergency and he was quickly transferred to the cardiac unit. He is now recovering very well and we were both very impressed with all the medical, nursing and staff in the hospital.
As a retired nurse myself I found the nursing care excellent and every attention was given to the patients all the time. The food was also good and I noticed the patients unable to feed themselves were quickly given help.
We would like to express our thanks to all the staff at Faro Hospital and the ambulance service of Tavira, as without them my husband would no longer be with me.
