Using a multitude of needlework and other fabric techniques, a second textile group has been established at São Brás Museum.
Sessions take place every Thursday afternoon and a few places are still available for beginners, as well as people with expertise.
Novices are able to learn skills from more experienced members including patchwork, quilting, appliqué, embroidery, cross-stitch, ribbon work, lace making, knitting and crochet.
Workshops can be arranged so that more unusual techniques such as cathedral window quilting and oval crochet can be learned. In all these disciplines free design can be incorporated giving endless scope for creativity.
The sessions are informal offering participants the opportunity to relax and make new friends. Languages spoken include English, Portuguese, Dutch and French.
Every Thursday from 2.30pm until 5.30pm. Cost to attend is €3 per session or €2 for Amigos de Museu.
