A new demand has been placed on weddings and cultural events (already bound by general pandemic requirements of mask wearing, physical distancing and reduced capacity) in Madeira. If there are more than 100 people due to attend, everyone must supply a negative ‘rapid test’ for Covid-19 taken up to 48-hours previously. It is more than likely this demand will be adopted on the Portuguese mainland, though the government has stopped short of confirming this. Today, catering association AHRESP has called for ‘speedy clarification’.
