Initially, there were rumours as to whether Gerry McCann was Madeleine’s biological father, however, DNA tests have confirmed that Gerry McCann is indeed the child’s biological father. The McCanns’ past was searched in order to find clues to a possible motive for reprisals by the family but nothing was found to suggest family involvement in the case.
