A tenth anniversary quiz from the Goldra/Cupid Group was held on the terrace of Quinta das Oliveiras in Poço Barreto on September 17, with money raised being used for a new project at the Donkey Sanctuary.
During the event, manager Mike Wakeford outlined the details of a €3,000 project at the Donkey Sanctuary in Estombar for the construction of a dedicated puppy area for the facility to keep them separated from older dogs and to prevent infection,
Already €800 was raised during a quiz in July, and a further €1,000 was made from the latest event and this, combined with a short-term loan, has meant that the work has already begun.
Organisers would like to thank all 47 competitors and local businesses who supported the quiz, as well as the helpers on the evening and hosts Philip and Verna Kinder.
The next quiz night will be held on November 5, with a Christmas quiz scheduled for December 10.
