The tender for the construction of a new maternity in Coimbra, in central Portugal, should be launched in the first quarter of 2024, the country’s minister of health, Manuel Pizarro, has announced.
“My expectation is that in the first quarter of 2024 all the conditions will be in place to launch the tender for the contract,” said the minister, who was speaking to journalists at the end of a visit to the Portuguese Oncology Institute (IPO) in Coimbra on Monday, from where he went to the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC) for a working meeting on the planned new unit.
