Temperatures plunge and rain returns tomorrow

Temperatures in Portugal will be dropping significantly on Tuesday (June 4) and it may even rain in the north and west of the country, according to weather forecasts for this week.

Maximum temperatures are expected to drop to around 20ºC all across the country by Thursday, IPMA meteorologist Paula Leitão told Público newspaper.

In Faro, maximum temperatures are set to fall from 30ºC to 26ºC between today and Tuesday.

Meteorologists say temperatures will likely increase again by next weekend, although they will remain below the 30ºC mark unlike last weekend when temperatures reached 38ºC.
