Few will be complaining as temperatures drop this week after the 40ºC and higher registered in various areas of the country over last weekend.
Alcácer do Sal in the Alentejo was one of the hottest spots, registering temperatures of 41.2ºC on Saturday – but Monday morning saw cool breezes and thermometers dropping by as many as 10 degrees in Lisbon and the surrounding areas.
Predictions for the week ahead are for much cooler temperatures, with even the chance of clouds by the end of the week everywhere but the Algarve, where it will be blue skies all the way, albeit with highs of around only 23ºC.
