Tejo valley town to host €161 million green hydrogen plant

Vila Velha de Ródão is to have an industrial unit for the production of green hydrogen, which should create 60 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs, as part of an estimated investment of €161 million, the local authority has announced. In a statement released yesterday, the local authority said it has recently signed a promissory contract with DH2 Portugal, Lda “for the purchase and sale of a plot of land in the Ródão industrial area, for the installation of an industrial unit for the production of green hydrogen”. The plot of land of around 56,000 square metres is owned by the local authority, writes Lusa, and the promissory contract stipulated “the acquisition of it by the company for €100,000”.
