The last two weeks have been peppered by ‘district protests’ by teachers, who insist their stand-off with the education ministry isn’t going to stop until there is a deal. Protests today are being held in Coimbra, which means more pupils have lost more hours of education as their teachers take to the streets. Say reports, “teachers are hugely critical of the government at a time when negotiations with the ministry of education are at an impasse”.
