The Ministry of Education is looking to recruit 1,954 teachers to join its ranks.
According to the official statement in the government gazette Diário da República, the vacancies are mostly for Portuguese, Maths, Physics and Chemistry, Biology and Geology, and Natural Sciences – the subjects considered “essential” by the government.
Special education teachers are also needed in significant numbers.
