Teachers’ misery as only 3,256 out of 30,000 get work

Only 3,256 teachers, out of almost 30,000 actively seeking jobs, succeeded in getting a work contract for this academic year. Results out on Monday evening – days before the summer holidays end – show that 3,435 posts remain unfilled. Thousands of teachers seeking positions this year were ‘failed’ by the Government as a result of the controversial ‘teachers test’ imposed on them earlier this year.
