A protest against the closure of the Ilha do Ancão Primary School on Faro Island was held on June 13.
Led by the Teachers’ Union of the South, teachers and parents gathered in front of the school’s grounds to contest the government’s decision, which they say is unjustifiable.
According to the union, the school provides “excellent quality education”. A document containing statements expressing the wishes of the population will now be forwarded to the local school group and other official entities.
