A report from the national Ricardo Jorge Health Institute confirmed the existence of 570 cases of tuberculosis in Portugal in 2012. The figure represents a 6.1% decrease on cases confirmed in the previous year, but it is still a “worrying reality”, says the report, stressing that cases of tuberculosis have been on the decline since 2000.
