THE PRICE of catching a cab in Portugal is set to rise, according to the Portuguese Taxi Federation.
Now each kilometre will cost 42 cents, up from 40 cents, in a new agreement ironed out between the government, the Associação Nacional dos Transportadores Rodoviários em Automóveis Ligeiros (ANTRAL) and the Federação Portuguesa do Taxi (FTP).
The new tariff will come into force within the next two weeks and will not be reviewed again until January 1, 2009.
