Tax break

Loulé Câmara is set to reduce tax rates in relation to commercial outdoor seating areas as a temporary measure to help ease the financial burden of restaurant, bar and coffee shop owners.

The Câmara will be dropping terrace taxes by 50 per cent with charges falling from 104.05 euros per square metre per year to 52.03 euros.

A spokesman from Loulé Câmara said: “It is clear that there are many difficulties facing businesses during the economic crisis and the Câmara has intervened to try and minimise some of these impacts, especially in the tourism sector.”
