Tavira’s Cachopo becomes first ‘Village of Portugal’ in Algarve

The village of Cachopo in Tavira has become the first in the Algarve to be awarded the label of ‘Aldeia de Portugal’ (Village of Portugal).

This label aims to highlight villages across Portugal that are deemed to have “touristic potential”. Hopes are that by shining the spotlight on these villages, the inequalities separating inland and coastal areas will be reduced.
