Tavira unveils new Animal Ombudsman

The ombudsman will bring together council, citizens and animal associations 

Tavira Council has announced that Agnes Freitas will take charge as the borough’s new Animal Ombudsman this Thursday (April 7) at 5pm.

The new role has been created “due to the legislative evolution of animal well-being in Portugal”, the council says in a statement to the press.

The ombudsman will act as a link between the council, citizens and animal associations and institutions.
