East Midlands Airport has an initiative called ‘depARTures’, whereby local artists can apply to have their artwork or photographs on display for a period of three months. Tanya Clare was fortunate enough to have her submission accepted, and is now proudly exhibiting four large framed canvases of Tavira in one of the departure lounges.
Tanya and her husband, Norman, have a holiday home in Tavira, having fallen in love with the area nearly 10 years ago when Tanya’s parents moved to a small village nearby.
Although she currently works in IT, Tanya has always loved photography, having been inspired as a child by her father. About four years ago, she decided to take her photography a step further and move towards becoming professional. She has attended several training courses and had private tuition with professional photographers in pursuit of this goal, and is now actively taking on paid projects.
She has undertaken informal wedding and christening photography, landscapes and travel, and has recently added studio photography to her portfolio.
The East of Faro display is a collection of photographs taken by Tanya on her travels to Portugal and focuses on Tavira.
