Tavira to hold Family Dog Fun Day

A Family Dog Fun Day organised by animal charity ADOTA from Santa Lúzia is being held on Sunday, May 29 from 11am to 7pm at the Tavira Trade and Exhibition Park.

With the support from the local town hall, the event aims to promote the work of local animal charities and the municipal kennel.

Starting at 11am, there will be a Fun Dog Show with 15 classes, including prizes and rosettes, a dog training demonstration by Nuno Nunes and Marco Serrão with his dog Gomas, and a display from the GNR dog team.

There will be free veterinary advice on diet and general pet care, animal behaviour therapists, dog grooming and more.

Stalls with pet products, homemade produce and crafts, as well as food and drinks stalls will be available throughout the day.

The day concludes with a group dog walk led by Dr. André Caetano from VetGilão in Tavira. Admission is free.

To take part in the Fun Dog Show, dogs must have their vaccines up to date (owners must bring vaccionation records) and be microchipped.
