Mediterranean Diet Fair Tavira

Tavira hosts Mediterranean Diet Fair

Promoting southern Europe’s healthy eating habits, the event features workshops, handicrafts and musical entertainment

Tavira is hosting the Mediterranean Diet Fair between the 8th and 11th of September. Following a two-year break due to the pandemic, the fair is back for its 8th Edition. The four-day event is designed to promote Southern Europe’s healthy eating regime, based on fruits and vegetables, whole grains, seafood, nuts and legumes, and olive oil.

“The Mediterranean Diet is currently one of the most relevant contributors to environmental preservation and climate change prevention. It is a sustainable agricultural and healthy eating model,” says the Municipality.

Heart health and nutritional advice, physical activities and many cultural offerings of Mediterranean origin will be highlighted. Entertainment will include handicraft and product tastings, traditional dances and botanical shows.

Thanks to a new concept, the “Praça da Convivialidade” (Conviviality Square), visitors will have the opportunity to taste the flavours of the Mediterranean in four restaurants offering Moroccan, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish cuisine.
