The streets, alleys and squares of Tavira were festooned with decorations and garlands as locals and tourists celebrated the Popular Saints Days and in particular Tavira Day last Monday.
Jorge Botelho, Mayor of Tavira, inspected the Guard of Honour ‘Tavira Bombeiros’ before he and other dignitaries raised the flags of Tavira, Portugal and the EU. The Banda Musical de Tavira provided the musical accompaniment.
