Tavira celebrates delicacies from the sea

More than 50 restaurants in Tavira, Cabanas and Santa Luzia will participate in this year’s Festival de Gastronomia do Mar (Seafood Festival), to be held between June 8 and 30.

The event celebrates the Mediterranean Diet and all the delicious ingredients that the sea has to offer by having local restaurants and eateries prepare dishes featuring traditional delicacies such as tuna, sea bass, codfish, mackerel, anchovy, octopus, cuttlefish, shrimp and a variety of clams and oysters.

Several other snacks, wines and sweets that “celebrate the Mediterranean lifestyle” can also be enjoyed during the festival.

There will also be a chance for diners to win prizes as in previous editions.

A brochure with information on what each restaurant will be serving is due to be launched soon. For now, here’s a list of the participating establishments:
